So Much Gratitude

Hello Team Purdy!

By now, you have heard that Saturday’s DSISD election was won by Mary Jane Hetrick, Stefani Reinold, and Shanda DeLeon. I congratulate our newly elected trustees, and wish them all the best as they take on this important role for our community.

Although the election results did not go as we hoped, your dedication and hard work have not gone unnoticed. Your commitment to our schools has made a lasting impact on our community, and I am incredibly grateful for your support. Whether you donated funds, displayed your support with signs and shirts, hosted events, or volunteered in a hundred other ways, each contribution was meaningful and so very appreciated.

While I did not secure a seat on the board, I still consider this campaign a win for a number of reasons:

  • We stayed focused on my positive contributions and strengths - as a volunteer, advocate, and leader.
  • I maintained my integrity and respectfulness while standing up to bullying and harassment directed towards both myself and others.
  • And we have connected even more people who share in the common goal of helping DSISD maintain its status as a high-achieving school district, even as we face the challenges of fast growth.

We have so much to be proud of. Let’s continue to work together to advocate for our students and their future. We made a good showing, and that is a testament to our resilience and determination.

This journey does NOT end here.

Thank you for being an integral part of Team Purdy.

Have a Purdy Day!

Volunteer | Advocate | Leader

I have served thousands of hours in our schools and community. Whether it’s making copies, feeding teachers, building a garden, fixing homes, delivering meals -

I SHOW UP

I am not afraid to speak up for what is right - especially when it comes to our children. At school board meetings, in the media, and at the Texas Capitol -

I SPEAK UP

To me, leadership is about bringing people together for a common goal, something I am passionate about. From PTA to bond campaigns, when asked to lead -

I STEP UP

About Me

Starting as a devoted school volunteer, then dynamic PTA leader, then passionate advocate and school community organizer - DSISD trustee seems like the natural next step for me to serve in Dripping Springs.

I have personally invested hundreds of hours educating myself on how public school works here in Dripping Springs ISD, and the state of Texas. During challenging times like the COVID-19 pandemic and the 2022 and 2023 DSISD bond elections, I worked very hard to build bridges and genuinely connect with diverse stakeholders throughout the district. I believe those relationships are vital to shaping the future of our school district.

As a trustee, my hope is to contribute my time, talents, and extensive knowledge to help DSISD maintain its status as a destination district, while meeting head-on the challenges of fast growth.
